Gloucester Family Dentistry is committed to providing high-quality dental care for individuals and families in Gloucester, Ontario, and its environs. When you walk into our family, you can be assured you’ll be treated like the family you are. There is no judgment, no pressure — just exceptional dental care. Our office offers comprehensive services, including dental exams, to treat everyone in your family. From infants to senior citizens and anyone in between, we are here to help you. Please schedule a dental exam with Dr. Fuad Tanha or Dr. Sami Kandalaft to make a difference in your smile.

What to expect during your first dental exam?

We aim to forge a welcoming, enduring connection with our clients right from their initial visit. Our compassionate and friendly team enjoys meeting new individuals, and we’re enthusiastic about welcoming you to our practice. Don’t hesitate to ask questions; our team is always ready to engage with you, and your inquiries are always welcome.

Is it your first dental exam with us? We are excited to take care of your smile and make your dental check-up fun and comfortable. This is what you can expect during your first dental exam.

  • Medical history: After getting to know you as a person, we’ll go over your overall health history, including past medical conditions, pre-existing conditions, current medication, and more. We’ll also understand your smile by asking about current concerns and previous dental work. The goal of your medical history is to tailor your treatment to meet your individual needs
  • Oral exam: Our dentist will physically and visually examine your mouth for signs of cavities, gum disease, oral cancer, and other issues. We’ll also take dental X-rays to examine oral health issues not visible to the naked eye — think of cysts, tumours, bone loss, impacted wisdom teeth, and other problems beneath the gum line
  • Personalized treatment plan: We offer customized treatment plans to restore oral health. Depending on the issues we find, your treatment plan can include tooth fillings, crowns, and root canal treatment
  • Professional cleaning: If your dental exam finds no significant problems, we’ll gently clean your mouth to remove built-in plaque and tartar above and beneath the gum line. Then, we’ll polish your teeth to achieve a glossy-looking smile

We advise our clients to schedule dental exams at least twice a year, but the frequency should be more often if you are at risk of gum disease and cavities. Between dental appointments, continue with the excellent job of brushing and flossing your teeth. We promise the next dental exam will be faster and less costly.

Benefits of routine dental exams

Your dental exam lasts about 60 minutes, but the benefits last many years. Here is why you need a dental check-up every six months:

  • To prevent cavities, gum disease, and bad breath
  • To have your mouth screened for oral cancer
  • To protect your overall health
  • To remove unsightly surface stains and tartar with professional cleanings
  • To touch base about your oral hygiene

Become part of our growing dental family

Want to join our dental family? Or has it been a little while since you last had an oral exam?

Please call (613) 749-7370 to schedule your check-up today with Gloucester Family Dentistry. We warmly welcome all clients — new and recurrent — to our office.
